EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a counselling service which has been set up by Twilight Aged Care for all staff. EAP is a free and confidential service which you can access at any time you choose during your personal time. IT is designed to help employees cope more effectively with issues that may be causing them concern. EAP counselling can be conducted face to face or via the telephone.
All staff are entitled to three (3) counselling sessions which will be fully paid for by Twilight Aged Care. If further sessions are required, they must be paid for by the employee. A medicare rebate may be available.
What type of personal and work-related issues can EAP assist with?
EAP can be used to assist with any number of issues which could include the following:
Work related:
- Conflict with colleagues
- Bullying in the workplace
- Coping with change
- Coping with death of residents
- Dealing with general workplace issues
- Dealing with physical injury
- Coping with anxiety/stress
Personal issues:
- Relationship problems
- Physical Health problems
- Bereavement
- Family crisis
- Drug and Alcohol use
On occasions, Managers may suggest to an employee that they may benefit from speaking to an EAP Counsellor. The decision on whether or not to use the service is entirely up to the employee.
A decision to access the EAP service is guaranteed to be totally confidential. Twilight Aged Care will not be informed at any time of any details regarding staff who have accessed the EAP service.
